The Friends of the Jefferson County Public Library is a county-wide organization dedicated to enhancing the programs and resources of our libraries. We are people like you who cherish our Jefferson County Libraries and believe our libraries are an indispensable part of the community. We lend our voices, time and resources to insure quality library services. The Friends, working under the auspices of the Jefferson County Library Foundation, help support educational programs such as:

Summer Reading Clubs and other year-round programs in the areas of art, science, and culture to instill the love of literature in children and young adults.

Traveling Children's Library which bring books, materials, and services to children residing in under-served neighborhoods of Jefferson County.

Our Mission:

The Friends of the Jefferson County Public Library is an organization of citizens dedicated to promoting the continued growth of public libraries and their services throughout Jefferson County. We help raise money, act as advocates, lend legislative support where needed, stimulate the use of the library's resources and services, and help focus public attention on the services, facilities, and needs of the library.
